One vision, one approach

We support the emergence of a financial system that serves sustainable societies, reconciling ecosystem preservation with the fulfillment of fundamental needs

Analysis

We carry out research into the practices of financial institutions and on the regulatory frameworks governing the sector, in order to establish how they impact people’s rights and the living world, and to identify the measures needed to address the ecological and social emergency.

Engagement

We engage in dialogue with financial and political institutions to share our analyses and recommendations and to support the transformation of practices through the appropriate levers.

Campaign

We shed light on the practices of financial institutions — reporting on both progress made and the efforts still required — and we advocate on behalf of citizens in order to encourage best practice and the phase-out of activities harmful to people’s rights and the environment.

Our Fights

Exit coal for good

Stop the expansion of fossil fuels

Towards 100% renewable electricity

Decarbonize steelmaking

Making money work for climate

Avoiding greenwashing in transition plans

Recognised expertise

We analyse financial institutions’ approach to decarbonization and ESG integration to help guide financial professionals and their stakeholders on pitfalls to avoid and best practices to adopt. (see resources)

Reclaim Finance has also developed three open-access tools analysing the policies adopted by financial institutions to support the necessary phase-out of fossil fuels — coal, oil and gas — and to scale up sustainable energy. We also assess the robustness of these policies by closely tracking financial flows to these sectors, in particular through bonds.

Our expertise is recognized by people in the financial sector, policymakers and public authorities. The organization sits — notably through members of its team — on several expert committees (French Financial Markets Authority, SBTi, GRI, etc.) and is regularly invited to closed-door meetings and public hearings by French and European authorities.
